This nuno felted wrap is a real celebration of colour. I worked from a drawing for this wrap. Unusual for me I normally just let the wrap tell me where to go as I lay out the colour. It still did not end up as the drawing but instead found it's own life. My trusty model was on hand to display. He's such a good boy.
I love color and I love your work! It's so alive!
ReplyDeleteOh he's a real cutie! I love your wrap too, very colourful and gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteoh great wool felting goddess, I have a question. I started wet felting a large mat with my kinder class and we had to stop after about 2 hours of work. the next we picked it up again by adding more wool but the wool was not attaching to the mat....it kind of felted on top like a layer of it's own. what do I do? any thoughts?
ReplyDeletethe next day is what I was trying to say....24 hours later
ReplyDeleteHello teaching handwork good to see you back! When you say started felting, do you mean you had started some friction, agitation? If you have it may be too far felted to add more fleece. I can add things to pieces after they are wet but not too well after the agitation has begun. If it is a pre felt then you may be able to add more fleece or prefelt but you may need to use something like an orbital sander ( with bubblewrap on it) to get it to attach. Agitation before rolling is the key to attachment. If it will not attach by any of the methods above then dry it all out and needle felt your extras on. When I do my big rugs they are done in reverse (upside down and all the detail is done first then the backing is added. You are very courageous taking this on with Kindy! Hope this helps.
