Like wow, Spin out.

I went to an art yarn work shop with the most amazing spinner "Wooldancer" at the guild in Sydney on the weekend. It was jammed packed with frenetic fibre fantasticness. There were so many skills to learn and master all at once. Tell you what, it is a good one for the left brain right brain activity.
Here are some pictures of my hand spun beginner attempts. I even did some beehives Ginga.

    Wow Pam! Those are all amazing!

    I'm so glad you had a fab time. I love your deliciously coloured supercoils and my absolute fave is Jellyfish - is that with mohair? How do you get that translucent effect? Its gorgeous!

    Yes it is with the mohair. You need to card it so it is ultra fluffy and then spin it on a bucle type yarn. Less is more.

    Gorgeous yarns, especially the 2-ply with crescents and supercoils. As you proceed, I'm sure I'm going to admire your handspun yarns in addition to your felts.

    Oh how i love to spin and your yarns are beautiful...I'm quite certain you had fun making those. And, as for yoru spinning in the campground...I have wished for one of those portable-stick-in-a-backpack spinning wheels for a long time now. Wouldn't it bedreamy to set up on a mountaintop overlooking a loudly singing stream and spin to your heart's content? Someday....

    Thankyou all and yes I will be using the yarn in my work. I have some ideas brewing as I get closer to getting in the studio.
    I love the idea of spinning on a mountain top. I was going to go down to the beach for that pic but thought I might be going a bit too far.
