So what have I been doing?

Summer cleaning!!!!
I missed the spring clean as it was a busy time. For me the Christmas break is the only decent block of time I get to really effect some changes in the house. Something gets hold of me and the cleaning and de-cluttering begins. I get a ruthless glint in my eye and the expulsion of all deemed unnecessary is underway.

I did not quite need the truck pictured above but it felt good to bring some order to the chaos of the home. Sometimes with everyone working it never seems to be the right time to deal with things. I even did some gardening, though there is  a long way to go there! For me this is also a cleaning out and preparation for the mind. Having the chaos around was effecting my work. Does anyone else suffer from this?? I need to be able to go down to my studio knowing that the house is not in greater need of my time.

In other words it is a load off.
A little balance is restored if only for a while. Now back to work!

  2. Oh my goodness! Is that all yours?! I keep joking that when I get around to having a clear out in this cottage we will need a skip lol. Clutter really upsets me. I try my best to keep it all under control but it keeps building up! My work corner is a shambles but it stays out of sight plus I decanted a lot of stuff down to the studio but it just sits there never being used so I need to sort it out come Spring and get rid of some stuff. There are corners of our house that are just dumping grounds for bits and pieces and no matter how I try these areas always accumulate odd plastic bits of toys and things no one can be bothered putting back in the right place. Drives me mad! There is a hoarding gene that runs through our family and my children have it! My Mum and Grandad are shocking hoarders and I am to a certain extent but I at least try to beat it. Everyone else just keeps on hoarding and I am the one that has to sort it all out lol.

  3. Thanks Vilterieje and Aileen. No there was not that much mess but sometimes it felt like a lot. Definitely several bins worth.

  4. I am totally with you on the clutter cluttering up the creativity...I love to work in a clean space and make it dirty, but the uncluttering is a must or I get claustrophobic in my own stuff and find myself turning in circles not knowing where to start...so congratulations ...good work
