All better

We are in School holidays here and the family went away bush walking with some friends. The South coast of Australia is beautiful. We did the Light to Light walk over 3 days. This is a perfect walk for a large group of different ages as it is fairly flat and not too far each day. The landscape and flora changes constantly. At one time you are walking out on the heath

then the next you are amongst the towering Casuarina with their branches chattering together in the breeze.

Then down to the beach to scour for shells and rocks.

This was by my 15 yo

We had an opportunity to dye and the children particularly loved the magic held within those tightly wrapped parcels. The pot was put on the morning and was unwrapped when we returned. A little early really but good results none the less. I was happy to see some lovely greens from what I can only describe as a native rosemary and the Warrigal greens, a native spinach,  gave a really good print also.

  2. Great to see you all on this tour: it must have been wonderful. Love the rock formation (on the photo above that lovely spiral) And "ofcourse" you did some dyeing with the leaves and plants you found: reminds me of that great workshop we had with you ;-) at Dorie's place (in the awful rainy weather...)
