No, not surgery, though Steph in the foreground is a trained nurse. This was the dyeing workshop we had in my studio yesterday.
I had to do some major cleaning and tidying to get 8 people into my studio. DH put in a new little combustion heater so we were warm. We had loads of fun making variegated dyed top in the morning and shibori dyed silk in the arvo.

Drawn to the Light
As mentioned in a previous post I had entered the Moth into the Katoomba Art street competition. Shops in the the main drag of Katoomba have an artist exhibit for 2 weeks and the public can vote on the people's choice but there is also a panel of artists who judge the works for other categories.
I shamelessly called in every favour I had in the local community to try to win the people's choice. This was unfortunately unsuccessful, but I did win the sculpture prize again and the overall prize as well. Very surprised but very happy.

Inspiration- Klimt
This wrap was inspired by the work of Klimt, a personal favorite of mine. His work evokes such passion.
This wrap has indeed some passionate colours. The neckpiece is another wire core handspun.

New design
I accidentally sold the Apron Top I had. Oh dear what a shame!
It was supposed to go to the Rocks gallery in Sydney for an exhibition! So I took the opportunity to remodel the shape and here's the outcome.

The neckpiece is a handspun number of mine.
It is corespun wool and beads onto a wire core. This means you can sculpt it to what ever you want.

Winter Magic
As the earth on this half of the world closes in to the deepest part of the season the solstice is the time when the days are the shortest. This is Winter Magic season!
Yes this year I will be once again sharing my wares at a stall at the festival. This is the most unique festival I have ever been to. The community spirit is palpable and everyone dresses up to the nines, the more outlandish the better!!
I have entered the Moth in the Artstreet. This is where shops in the main drag allow artist to exhibit in their window for 2 weeks and the public can vote on their favorite. There are other prizes as well. My stall is almost opposite "Fine flowers" (the shop with the moth), just up a bit. Please don't forget to vote!!
The weather is supposed to be good so if your nearby do come up for a look. There is supposed to be an old train coming up from Sydney so that would be a great way to travel!!

Beautiful
This work is by someone I've met on this Wild word web whom I like to call friend. Her work is so creative and as you can see just beautiful.
I love this work even more now I've seen a part of how it was created. The work is entitled "Do not watch the waves" BTW I should say that the piece is made from hand made felt.

Bits and pieces
This scarf was made from the left overs of various prefelt dyeing activities. I love the subtle changes of colour over the piece. I like how the first pic looks like a landscape.
Ps. These are all natural dyed
